Fur-Free Friday Demonstration
When: November 27, 12:00 noon
Where: A.J. Ugent Furs, located at 8333 West Capitol Dr, Milwaukee.
The day after Thanksgiving is touted as the biggest shopping day of the year, but animal advocates know it as "Fur-Free Friday," a day to remind consumers to leave all fur and fur-trimmed products off their holiday shopping lists. We will get the message out loud and clear that the use of animals for fur is an unnecessary, inhumane practice that is barbaric and far from fashionable.
The fur ads you see in magazines and commercials
portray fur coats as a symbol of elegance. But these ads fail to show how the
original owners of these coats met their cruel and gruesome deaths. Millions of
innocent and beautiful fur-bearing animals are killed each year on fur farms by
anal and vaginal electrocution and in the wild by drowning, trapping or beating. Many are skinned alive while fully conscious
to the pain and terror they are experiencing. The most commonly farmed
fur-bearing animals are minks and Wisconsin has the embarrassing distinction of
being the top producer in the U.S.
On November 27th, CUFA will join with other activists
at a peaceful demonstration to protest the use of animals for their fur. We
will assemble outside of A.J. Ugent Furs, 8333 West Capitol Drive at noon. Posters and leaflets will be provided, so
just bring yourself and anyone you can recruit to join you!

Perhaps you will be inspired to reform a fur-wearer
or two or three this holiday season.
